New Summer Episode!
I am dropping in between seasons with a new episode with two interviews with a couple of quilt business owners that I met and recorded with in person at the business to business trade show, H+H Americas. We recorded these chats near the end of June. Instead of holding onto the recordings for the new season in fall, I decided to release it now in July.
I met many lovely people at the H+H show and saw so much yarn, fabric and sewing/knitting notions galore! I only went one day, and I barely got through all of the booths. Below is a carousel of photos I took from the show. There was a cosplay convention the week before the H+H, and they set up a display of handmade cosplay costumes. there was also a large display of knitted everything like sweaters, scarves…anything that can be knitted.
Fall introductions were at a lot of booths. I was allowed to take a photo of the Essex Linen new colors and patterns coming out soon! There is a wider stripe coming. I love the narrow stripe already in their collection, and am excited for the wider stripe too!
Interview 1 with SewTites owners Jessie and Jamie
Jessie and Jamie of SewTites have exciting news of their new product launch in September 2023. In this interview they talk about their new Sew Magnetic Cutting System. The system includes a magnetized self healing cutting mat, magnetized quilt ruler and booster magnets to increase magnet power where needed or to use alone as sewing pattern weights etc.
Also don’t forget about their magnetic sewing pins, which are very useful for bag making, English paper piecing and more. Check out the new Libbs Elliot skull magnets!

Interview 2 with Off the Wall Quilt owner Julie Luoma
I really enjoyed meeting and chatting with Julie from Off the Wall Quilt. This is a small family business that specializes in laser cut acrylic quilting rulers, appliqué templates and the portable quilt design wall product. they have a patented quilting ruler called “EeziGrip”. These rulers have just about the best grip surface on the back of the ruler to hold the ruler against the fabric without slipping while you cut. The other thing I like about these rulers is the color that seems like a bright neon, but when placed on the fabric, has a very clear and readable view of the ruler markings and the fabric.
Another creative product they have is called “Angle Play Templates”. Long triangle templates made for easy cutting and quilt piecing.
You can order a custom laser cut template from Off the Wall Quilt. Check out their website here and look at all the cool quilting tools they have.
FINAL NOTES
I harvested my first zucchini planted by seed this past winter. It got a little big, but it was the most delicious zucchini ever. I used half of it sautéed with red onions for a dinner side dish. The other half was used grated in a double chocolate zucchini bread…Ah-mazing!
Also, my year and a half old orchid plant finally re-bloomed! This is also a first for me…I was so excited I did a happy dance!
The last photo is the collection of cards I made during the last two weeks of June. Now all card making stuff is put away until the next batch of cards which may not be until holiday time. LOL!
Comment below on what you are making this summer! It can be anything, sewing, crafting to cooking and gardening.
Happy Summer,
Stephanie
