Chit Chat

i am so happy to be able to spend lots more time in my sewing studio. The dog pillows commission project is completed and delivered. I am very pleased at how they turned out. These pillows are 13” square finished size with decorative cording, invisible zipper enclosure, fussy cut front fabric and contrast fabric on back of pillow.

Paint Colors for my Studio:

Below are photos of the F&B paint colors I am looking at for my sewing studio. The walls are definitely going to be in Pink Ground, a beautiful blush color. The cabinetry will be in Arsenic, and I couldn’t believe it when I saw the photo on the F&B website…they have the dark blue door and trim that I am considering for the window and door trim. The high contrast looks really nice and the color combo is fresh and fun.

Knitting

Here are photos of my progress on the two knitting projects that I am currently working on. I have a lot more done on the Cardizen cardigan than is shown in the photo. I am sure I will not finish it by the 28th #bhmpatterndesigners challenge. I think I need one more week to finish it.

The second project is the knit a long with Purl Soho’s pattern Prism Blanket. This one will take a long while to complete. I am not sure if I will work on it through the summer, but if I do, it will be completed in time to use for the next fall/winter seasons.

Quilting

Heidi Parkes is starting a quilt a long in March for her Vignette’s Quilt Pattern. This is an improv quilt and you can purchase her pattern separate from the online workshop. If you purchase the on demand workshop, the pattern is included, which is what I did. There is a discount on the on demand workshop and you can find more information on it here.

What I am Watching

ABC/Hulu: Will Trent

Netflix: Beyond Evil. I knew this show was amazingly great! It won best screenplay, best actor and best drama at the Baeksang Arts Awards in 2021 (I am guessing similar to the prestige of the Oscars)

Netflix: Inspector Koo This is one of my favorites. If you watch this, you must let me know what you think!

Main Topic: Sewing Room Design and Organization

Arrow Sewing : Furniture and storage made for sewing and crafters

Christa’s Cabinet front Arrow : you do need the space to accommodate this sewing cabinet when fully opened. I think it is a brilliant design for machine quilters and can elevate the sewing and quilting experience to be more fun and less frustrating when dealing with a lot of fabric and batting at your sewing machine.
