S5 E92 Sewing an Upton Dress & Replay Segment: Fall Entertaining and Decorating

Chit Chat: Sewing the Upton Dress and invisible zippers

I made the Upton Dress by Cashmerette It is worth it to get the pattern bundled with the expansion pack. It has multiple sleeve, neckline, bodice and skirt styles to mix and match to make your own custom Upton dress. I chose to make the princess seam bodice with the v-neck front, high back with three quarter length sleeves and the gored tea length dress.

I had good intentions of photo documenting the process of making this dress, and as you can see below, I only have two photos of the making process! I got so focused that I forgot to keep taking progress photos. I do review my experience making this dress in this episode. I am very happy with the end results of this dress. I had so much fun wearing it, dancing in it and posing in it at my brother’s wedding. This is not a beginner level dress especially with the inset sleeves, invisible zipper and bodice lining. If you are comfortable with those techniques, then it will be fairly straightforward to make.

Another good thing about this dress is that it can be made in casual fabrics and dressy fabrics. Now that I have the pattern adjusted to fit me perfectly, it will be easier to make more versions of this dress!
