Vintage Sewing Box
I love Youtube, because I have discovered many kindred creative spirits all over the world. I discovered Emma’s youtube channel during the pandemic. There are many english paper piecing channels and videos in the youtube stratosphere, but the unique thing about Emma’s videos is the hand embroidery embellishments on the EPP pieces. Also, she introduced me to Hexiform, a stabilizer like form that replaces paper forms… and does not need to be removed! How brilliant is that!
Emma also has an online shop under the same name as her youtube channel, Vintage Sewing Box. She has free patterns, paired up with video tutorials, as well as sweet notions for hand stitching.
Click on the “Tendrils Pot” photo below to link to a blog post by Emma. She is part of a book tour for Jo Avery’s new book, Modern Crewel Embroidery. Emma made the Tendrils Pot project as part of this book tour.
Chit Chat with Stephanie
Thank you for replying to my request for feedback. I received more feedback than I anticipated. The response was overwhelmingly positive about the chit chat segment, and the longer show format. Your feedback confirmed to me that I am providing content that you enjoy, and that is what matters most to me. Please send me messages any time. I really love hearing what you have to say, and I have even received potential guest ideas from you as well.
As you can tell from the photo above, winter has arrived on time. This is me and Cooper at the dog park, and it was cold and windy, but the sun was out, the air crisp and we got much needed activity into our day.
#Below are photos of our little Christmas tree, my winter forest vignette and a watercolor art that I made on my ipad in Procreate. Of course, it is not the same as real watercolor painting, but it is very relaxing and satisfying to create. I have been learning from the Youtube channel, Calvin at Drifter Studio. If you try watercolor art on your ipad, let me know. You can also post it with #makeanddecoratepodcast and I will see it on IG.
Pantone Color of the Year: Veri Peri 17-3938
I love this color for 2022!! It is best of both worlds with my two favorite colors, a beautiful periwinkle. Here is the link to Pantone to learn more about this color for 2022.
Kona Color of the Year 2022: Cosmos
This color is a very bright and happy purpley-red…magenta. I can see it used in many spring and summer quilts and accessories. What do you think of this Kona color??
I wish you a very happy, healthy and peaceful holiday season. Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night.
