S5 E93 George Mendoza, Artist & Free Spirit Fabrics Designer
I am very honored to have George Mendoza on my podcast show. Our conversation went beyond the informational story of his art and fabrics. We talk about his personal story of becoming blind in his teen years, the struggles of living in a society where blind people have little to no resources for education and jobs. George has made a significant impact in the blind community, and has founded a non-profit organization to support young artists in his home state of New Mexico.
In this episode you will learn more about George’s personal and professional story. His art is in the Smithsonian, and travels to many other museums. I am so inspired by his story, which really brings perspective to me. How many times do we take our senses for granted? Sight, hearing, speaking?
In addition to his painted art, George has an impressive collection of quilts, shirts, and wall hangings made from his fabric collections from over the years with Free Spirit Fabrics. I will try to edit the video portion of our recording and post it on my YoutTube channel.
