I absolutely love Kate’s YouTube Channel. Her videos always transport me to a beautiful bucolic landscape where she shares a glimpse into her creative world with all of us. You will see a bit of gardening, quilt piecing, knitting, paper crafts, sewing, hand quilting, cooking, baking and even chocolate making! Oh, and she is also a beekeeper - with beautifully painted bee hives (I’m not sure I am calling it the right name - but its the wooden boxes where the bees live and make honey)

I hope you enjoy Kate’s YouTube channel as much as I do. Also, be sure to comment on Kate’s videos and/or Instagram if you learned about her channel from the Make and Decorate Podcast :)

stephanie’s show notes

This is the seating area on our deck. The wicker sofa, chair and ottoman are the deal of the century pieces I scored from the outdoor showroom’s floor sample sale about 10 years ago. I made the seat and back cushions myself in a beautiful outdoor fabric. I also made the outdoor drapery panes from outdoor fabric.

The cantilever umbrella is brand new and we just installed it last weekend. It is a 9’ size and I wish I had gotten the 11’ umbrella. It is tricky to measure for these because the umbrella is not flat and it ends up smaller that you think it will be due to the curvy shape of the umbrella.

Stag and Thistle fabric finally arrives!

I finally received the long awaited Stag and Thistle fabrics. This is the first fabric collection by Brett Lewis for Northcott Fabrics. I got the fat quarter bundle and a couple of half yard pieces as well. The Sew Together Bag pattern by Sew Demented is perfect for this fabric because of the sewing notions theme, and because it is fat quarter friendly.

I read a lot of Amazon reviews of this pattern, and a common thread was that the instructions were lacking detail and clarity. I have not made this bag yet, but when I do, I will let you know what I think about the instructions.

These are my collection of Tulip needles. I pulled out one of the little tubes the needles are packaged in. I like these needles a lot.

I bought the little ceramic pin cushion from Kate’s website about a year ago. These little guys sold out pretty quickly and I am fortunate that I was able to secure one for myself.

The stiletto in this photo is the Tula Pink stiletto. I love this stiletto. It is not bulky and has a nice milled grip and weighted well. The Rainbow finish is really beautiful.

In this group of photos, pink peonies from my garden, another pair of knit baby pants with knee patches, and I made another baby bonnet for my baby niece - this one in a larger size that she will no doubt grow into before I know it.
